World's largest hand-dug well

In Greensberg, KS.  Brings my total to two world's-largest things.

Actually, Greensberg is very interesting.  It was destroyed by a tornado in 2007, but rather than simply rebuild, they are building one of the "greenest" towns in the country.  Lots of wind turbines, recycled materials, efficient architecture, etc.  The new hospital is particularly nice.  The well museum, unfortunately, has not been rebuilt yet so there wasn't too much to see there.

Greensberg is also home to the largest pallaside (sp?) meteorite ever found.  I guess this type is particularly rare.

  2. Glad you had a chance to go through this town and see it's journey. You'll have to come back through when the get the deepest hand dug well fixed up.
